Today Megan asked us to log onto Write that Essay and complete the lesson on Ing start sentences, then post 10 examples to our blog, so here we are. My examples are below, I use these in writing all the time.
1. Sighing heavily, he lifted her head from the book, one elegant eyebrow arched.
2. Embarrassingly, though not surprisingly, I tripped down the stairs, seemingly flying past half the content on my way down.
3. Jamming the clothes into the washing machine, I pushed the shower door shut with my foot.
4. Pushing and shoving, she elbowed her way to the front.
5. Unaware of the spider, he sat down, ignoring the sniggers from people around him.
6. Enchanted by the shimmering gems embedded in the wall, Ash forgot about staying on the path.
7. Nodding my head in time to the music, I jogged along the beach.
8. Shoving popcorn into her mouth, she stared, transfixed, at the screen.
9. Shuffling along the street, the old man struggled to open his umbrella.
10. Thrilled to win at last, the netball team cheered.
