How to Plant a Kōwhai Seed

Hiya,
Its Friday, hence the last blog post of the week. Yesterday, period six, we planted our Kōwhai seeds. Eventually, they'll grow and we can re-plant them in bigger pots, then later around the school. I enjoyed planting them, it was easy and fun, and it seemed everyone else enjoyed it too.

You'll Need:
1 Kōwhai Seed

1 Piece of sandpaper
1 seed pot
1 Soil Pod
50mls water
1 stick or something to stir with
1 Plastic Container

Method:

1. Lightly sand the Kōwhai seed. This will allow the seed to sprout faster and with ease.
2. Pour the 50mls of water into the plastic container.
3. Add the soil pod to the water. Soil pods are compacted dirt, and adding them to water will cause them to expand into damp soil.
4. Mix, poke and generally harass the soil pod into fresh dirt. Patience is key- it takes forever.
5. Once the soil is ready, put about 2/3 of the dirt into the seed pot.
6. Poke a small hole in the centre of the soil and place the seed inside.
7. Cover the seed with the rest of the soil, then you're done!
8. Place the seed in a warm, dry place away from direct sunlight and wait for it to grow.
