Yesterday we visited Wellington for the Capital E festival of the Arts. We saw Troll, Wolfgang's magical, musical circus and Gabez. They were amazing! My favourite was Troll, because I loved the deep meanings.
Here are reviews for each show.
Troll
By Trick of the Light theatre
Summary:
It's 1998. Otto just moved to a new house and school. He moved with his mother, who doesn't believe him about a sound in the wall, his dad, who blames it on the cowboys, his grandmother, who is reserved and relay visits the house and his Sister Ericka, who ends up helping him with his troll. The people at his new school start bullying him. He joins a club about pens, and they name him 'pen 15' and write it on his hand. Later on he realised they were bullying him to. Otto enjoys a group chat online, but online bullies find him. For example, they hacked his account and tell him "we gave you a virus". It took him a week to look, and when he did, it was a laughing face. Then, at night, when he sneaks onto the computer. The online bullies find him, and when falling into despair, he hears a noise. And noticed a new cored. He pulled it. Attached to the end was the troll. It was a selekten with luminous, glowing, emerald green eyes.

Some things I enjoyed: The meanings were deep and layered. i.e: the troll represented depression.
I highly recommend this show.
Wolf Gang
By Circa
Summary: This show is based on Classical music. The costumes are classical too. Wolf gang is made from three people: A woman and two men whose names have not been realised make up the group, who are skilled in they're different things. The woman, let's call her Kat, had a birthday. She is the only one in the room, and she puts on some music. Then the fridge starts smoking, and two men emerge. One plays more music, while the other does acrobatic things with Kat. They did various things, including: Placing four chairs on top of four wine bottles on to of a table, climbing on tom and doing a one handed handstand. The bottles didn't shatter. They didn't break, didn't wobble, Nothing! They continued doing things, such as: Standing on each others shoulders, both on tiptoe! They made it all look easy, but when you think about it, it would be extremely difficult!
